Becoming a Great Speaker—

I was horrible at speaking like horrible horrible.

I didn’t know how bad I was—classic Dunning-Kruger effect, where you don’t know enough to realize how much you’re lacking.

3 things you can do to elevate your speaking

  1. Start Listening to very very Good Speakers

For the next few weeks you are going to brainwash yourself listening to speakers instead of music, watching television or Youtube.

Great speakers excel at simplifying complex subjects, turning them into clear, relatable words.

That’s what people admire.

The clarity you can manage when getting your point across.

You can always tell when someone doesn’t know his stuff, it doesn’t really click, he is having trouble, turning it into a mess.

Making it less abstract. You don’t want to be that guy.

You want to be that guy who cuts through all the noise in the confusion and put through simple words people understand immediately.

Example of such:
Jim Rohn
Zig Ziglar
Brian Tracy
Tony Robbins

Notice how Tony Robbins uses analogies to make his points relatable or how Jim Rohn employs storytelling to simplify complex ideas.

          2. Record Yourself

Watch it with conscience.

Take feedback!

Identify filler words like ‘um’ and ‘ah,’ note your pacing.

Where are you messing up?

Identify the problems.

Like the very first step of solving the problem.

If you put studying of the speakers next to yourself you are going to have amazing transformation in the way you speak.

          3. Put Yourself into such situation where you are forced to speak.

Join a public speaking group, volunteer to give presentations, or actively participate in networking events.

putting yourself in such situation is going to force you tell a story.
You don’t have stories?

Dude! convert everyday of your life into a story through words.

Doesn’t matter what it is just do the work, Try to come up with something.

Talking to your friends, romantic partners ? just watch when the attention drops off and take note

Where do I drop the ball ?

Put yourself in stressful situation where you are forced to do this maybe you will fall on your face and that’s fine AND YOU ARE GOING TO GET BETTER AT NO TIME.
